What you will learn
Swapping helps everyone, but only when both sides want what the other has.
Steps

Think of 3 things you own (e.g. a book, a pen, a hat).

Imagine offering each one to a friend. What would they give you in return?

Now imagine your friend does not want ANY of your 3 things. You are stuck!

What if there was one thing EVERYONE wanted? Then you could always trade.

That one thing everyone wants? That is money.
What you learned
Direct swapping (barter) only works when both people want what the other has. Money solves this problem.
Play with others?
Each person writes 3 things they "have" on paper. Try to arrange trades. See how many get stuck. Then introduce "coins" and see how much easier it gets.
